local opportunities overview
At The First Tee-GCNKY, we encourage participants to explore and get involved in golf, in The First Tee, and in their communities in as many ways as possible. It’s the best way to improve your golf skills and put your Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits to work.
These Chapter Opportunities are offered as options to help you do just that. Those indicated with an asterisk (*) will also strengthen your chances of being selected for The First Tee Network Opportunities, such as scholarships, leadership academies and golf experiences. New Opportunities may be added throughout the year.
This 2019 Home Office Participant Opportunities Guide was developed by our Chapter to summarize 2019 opportunities and provide descriptions, timing, eligibility and other pertinent information about each. Contact our Operations Manager Jeanne Siegel with questions or to get an application started. Do you need help with your application or golf resume? Let us know! We are part of your go to team and want to help.
May 3 4:30-5:30 Rules Clinic: We invite participants to attend a rules clinic at our Reeves clubhouse. Parents are also welcome! The Rules of Golf have changed dramatically for this year. The Greater Cincinnati Golf Association will be here to explain the major changes. We hope you take advantage of this clinic which will prepare you for the upcoming golf season.
Establishing a USGA handicap index allows all golfers to compete fairly and equitably. All TFT-GCNKY students playing regularly–especially those interested in playing tournaments and competitions–should establish a USGA handicap index. Because TFT-GCNKY is a member club of the Greater Cincinnati Golf Association, our students can get (or renew) their handicap index for a fee of $10 per year for golfers under 18 or $30 per year for those 18 and older. This is now free to students who are birdie, eagle or ace levels. Register Now
Youth on Course… Keeps golf affordable! With this membership, participants can play golf at hundreds of participating courses across the country for $5 or less. More details to come early March.
Meadow Links The First Tee Fridays…For $5 all The First Tee participants may play Meadow Links on Friday afternoons. Take advantage of this and join your kids for a round of golf!
