Our Programs

At The First Tee, we want students to acquire not only basic golf skills, but also the fundamental life skills, core values and healthy habits that will help them flourish throughout their lives. We deliver those uniquely integrated lessons through a program called The First Tee Life Skills Experience, which we offer free of charge to area kids, 8 to 18 years old, at three locations (Reeves GC, The Golf Courses of Kenton Co, Meadow Links & Golf Academy) in three class sessions (Spring, Summer, Fall).

Adaptations of The First Tee Life Skills Experience curriculum are also delivered through Target Outreach programs customized and delivered in partnership with schools and youth-serving non-profits, as well as through The First Tee National School Program.

Life Skills Experience Program at TFT-GCNKY

Our program of integrated golf and life skills instruction is divided into five levels—starting with the inroductory PLAYer level, and progressing through Par, Birdie, Eagle and Ace. Students advance through the program at their own pace (and according to required/recommended minimum age) through a certification process.

Participant Opportunities

The First Tee offers students a wide variety of opportunities, including scholarships, leadership experiences and golf tournaments. Students 13 and older and their parents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these opportunities and related eligibility requirements so they can prepare effectively. In addition to TFT opportunities, the Chapter also works to make students aware of junior golf programs/tournaments and scholarship opportunities such as the Evans Scholar Program.
